The rock samples preparation technical platform is dedicated to the production of:
♦ thin sections for teaching and research;
♦ coated or polished thin sections for observation using transmission and reflection optical microscopy, cathodoluminescence, UV epifluorescence, electron microscopy, ion microprobes, and laser ablation analyses (LIBS, ICP-MS);
♦ thick sections for the study of fluid inclusions, laser ablation, and paleontological observations;
♦ polished sections for reflected light observation and infrared and Raman mapping;
♦ rock powders for chemical analysis.
For thin section services, the platform systematically performs a finishing polish compatible with most advanced observations, including electron microscopy, ion probes, and LA-ICP-MS analyses. The platform continuously adapts to the specific needs of scientific research.
