
Double distinction for GeoRessources during the final of the University of Lorraine !
The local finals of the contest My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) of the University of Lorraine has brought together 11 yearly to doctoral and phd students from a major challenge : to present their thesis topic in three minutes only. At the end of the evening, Valentine Charvet, phd student at the laboratory GeoRessources, has distinguished herself by winning both the first prize of the jury and the Audience Award.
The contest My Thesis in 180 Seconds offers a doctoral level and the doctoral students to present their research in front of an audience of non-experts, in a short format and accessible. In three minutes and with a single slide, participants must explain several years of research in a clear, educational and engaging.
In this final local of the University of Lorraine, 11 candidates took the word turn to meet this challenge of scientific popularization. Each presentation has illustrated the diversity of the thematic research conducted in the laboratories of the university and the ability of young researchers to share their work with the general public.
At the end of the presentations, Valentine Charvet, phd student at the laboratory GeoRessources, has won the 1st prize of the jury and the Audience Award, a double distinction that rewards the quality of his performance and his ability to make his research accessible and engaging.

Next step : the regional final
Thanks to his victory, Valentine Charvet, will represent the University of Lorraine in the regional final, which will be held on April 9 at the Planetarium of the Garden of science of the University of Strasbourg.
