Projet ADEME Batmobil

Ademe Batmobil project

Explanations of the Batmobil project

LNAPLs (Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids) are an important source of soil contamination, which remain trapped in the unsaturated area or on the roof of the aquifer. Seasonal variations in the piezometric level lead to a significant vertical dispersion of these contaminants, favoring their spread in the water and the atmosphere. The Batmobil project therefore aims to:
better understand the impact of groundwater height variations On the mechanisms for the release of these hydrocarbons,
and to evaluate and compare different methods of Monitoring of pollutants at the level of the water table by the combination of indirect (geophysical) and direct measurements in the monitoring wells.
