Ademe – Batmobil project

Explanations of the Batmobil project

LNAPLs (Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids) are a significant source of soil contamination, remaining trapped in the unsaturated zone or on the roof of the aquifer. Seasonal variations in the piezometric level lead to a significant vertical dispersion of these contaminants, promoting their spread in the water and the atmosphere.

The BatMobil project therefore aims to:
better understand the impact of variations in groundwater level on the mechanisms of release of these hydrocarbons,
evaluate and compare different methods for monitoring pollutants at groundwater level by combining indirect measurements (geophysical) and direct measurements in monitoring wells.
