Ademe – Batmobil project
Explanations of the Batmobil project
LNAPLs (Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids) are a significant source of soil contamination, remaining trapped in the unsaturated zone or on the roof of the aquifer. Seasonal variations in the piezometric level lead to a significant vertical dispersion of these contaminants, promoting their spread in the water and the atmosphere.
The BatMobil project therefore aims to:
♦ better understand the impact of variations in groundwater level on the mechanisms of release of these hydrocarbons,
♦ evaluate and compare different methods for monitoring pollutants at groundwater level by combining indirect measurements (geophysical) and direct measurements in monitoring wells.
