The research themes at GeoRessources

GeoRessources is structured around three scientific themes and six teams, as illustrated below:

The Mineral Resources Cycle (CREM) theme aims to understand the formation of mineral resources and extract useful substances from them.

Research teams:
GEMGeology of Mineral Resources
Valo Resource and Residue Valorization

The MeMoRi theme develops geomechanics and geomodelling approaches to characterize and represent the subsurface, and to assess geological risks.

Research teams:
GOR Geomechanics, Structures and Risks
RING Research for Integrative Numerical Geology
HGM Multi-scale Hydro-Geomechanics

The objective of the GRéSTOCK theme is to:

build models of geological systems associated with new forms of subsurface resources and uses,
develop new exploration and monitoring concepts and tools that are less expensive than those used in oil exploration,
enhance synergies between geology–geophysics, mineralogy–fluid geochemistry, and reaction thermodynamics through both experimental and numerical approaches.

The goal is to optimize the characterization, dynamics, and modelling of these reservoirs.

Research team:
GRéSTOCKReservoirs for Primary Energy Resources and Storage
