The research themes at GeoRessources
GeoRessources is structured around three scientific themes and six teams, as illustrated below:

Mineral Resources Cycle (CREM)
The Mineral Resources Cycle (CREM) theme aims to understand the formation of mineral resources and extract useful substances from them.
Research teams:
♦ GEM – Geology of Mineral Resources
♦ Valo – Resource and Residue Valorization

GeoMechanics, Geomodelling and Risks (MeMori)
The MeMoRi theme develops geomechanics and geomodelling approaches to characterize and represent the subsurface, and to assess geological risks.
Research teams:
♦ GOR – Geomechanics, Structures and Risks
♦ RING – Research for Integrative Numerical Geology
♦ HGM – Multi-scale Hydro-Geomechanics

Reservoirs for Primary Energy Resources and Storage (GRéSTOCK)
The objective of the GRéSTOCK theme is to:
♦ build models of geological systems associated with new forms of subsurface resources and uses,
♦ develop new exploration and monitoring concepts and tools that are less expensive than those used in oil exploration,
♦ enhance synergies between geology–geophysics, mineralogy–fluid geochemistry, and reaction thermodynamics through both experimental and numerical approaches.
The goal is to optimize the characterization, dynamics, and modelling of these reservoirs.
