Postdoctoral Position in Geology – Natural Hydrogen and the Lorraine Paleozoic Basin (REGALOR II)
Deadline of application : 30/04/2026
Date of commencement of the contract : Spring 2026
Contact GeoRessources : Raymond Michels
The GeoRessources laboratory (University of Lorraine – CNRS) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in geology as part of the REGALOR II project, which focuses on the genesis and accumulation of natural hydrogen in the Lorraine Carboniferous Basin.
The project aims to reconstruct the geological and diagenetic evolution of the Lorraine Paleozoic Basin using mineralogical, petrographic, and geochemical datasets derived from regional boreholes. The research will combine petrographic analyses, paleofluid studies, and basin modelling to better understand the conditions controlling the formation and migration of natural hydrogen.
The successful candidate will conduct their research at the GeoRessources laboratory in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy (France), working in collaboration with several scientific and industrial partners, including FDE, BRGM, and Solexperts.
