Raman spectroscopy
The laboratory is equipped with two LabRAM and LabRAM HR -type microspectrometers (Horiba Jobin Yvon) for localized analysis, sample mapping and combined Raman-spectroscopy/microthermometry analysis. The available excitation wavelengths are 457 nm, 488 nm, 514 nm, 660 nm, and 785 nm.
Two RXN1 spectrometers (Kaiser Optical Systems, Inc.) equipped with Nd-YAG lasers (532 nm) are dedicated to the monitoring of reaction processes using either one or two optical immersion probes or an autoclave equipped with a sapphire window.

Services:
Analyses are usually carried out by the applicants themselves, after training in the use of the spectrometers (1/2 day).
Localized mineralogical analysis (µm):
- thin, thick and polished sections
- raw samples
- powders
Aqueous fluid inclusion analysis:
- speciation of molecular species (anions, cations, dissolved gases)
- salinity determination (NaCl or CaCl2 media)
- speciation of gaseous species (dissolved and in the vapour phase)
- mineralogical identification of solid inclusions
