Where do we come from ?
The GeoRessources Laboratory, UMR 7359, created in 2013, is the result of the consolidation of staff from four laboratories :
- Geology and Management of Mineral and Energy Resources (G2R) UMR 7566;
- Centre for Petrographic and Geochemical Research (CRPG), UPR 2300;
- Environment, Geomechanics and Structures Laboratory (LAEGO), EA 1145;
- Environment and Mineral Processing Laboratory (LEM), UMR 7569;
- Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis common service of (SCMEM) at the University of Lorraine.
The creation of the GeoRessources unit was part of a major restructuring of Earth Sciences in Nancy within the OTELo Observatory of Science of the Universe (OSU). It coincided with the establishment of the University of Lorraine as a single institution from the merger of the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (INPL), the University Henri Poincaré-Nancy 1 (UHP1) and Nancy 2 (UHP2) and the Paul Verlaine University in Metz.
